SUNDAY PIZZA & WINE DAY AT AMELIA PARK

Welcome everyone, we hope a good weekend was had by all.
A GREAT FIRST TO LADY XAAR
A great win for this horse, she has grown in strength and credit to the staff at Amelia Park where Lady completed her training and went straight to the track. Good work girls.
TIME FOR BLACK - 3RD
Very pleased with this placing, hopefully higher next time.
RED TIME RUNNER - 4TH
Still maturing so will give him 1 more start and then home for a rest and will gauge his future from then.
THIS WEEKS RACING
REPRISAL - FLEMINGTON SATURDAY 5TH
2500m Race and Peter is very much looking forward to this horse going the distance. Should suit the 2500.
FARIDAT
First Trial - Unfortunately played up at the Barrier and was scratched so will bring him back in a fortnight.
NEWSLETTER DAY CHANGE
Peter thought Wednesday would be a more appropriate day as we can re check the racing programme for the week and report to you with the upcoming racing events.
AMELIA PARK
And yet another busy social time for Peter.
Last week he had business clients from Russia visit the farm. The Cellar candles were burning brightly as Peter was treated by his clients with excellent Champagne, eggs and top shelf black caviar which Peter said was sensational. The next night it was back to toasted sandwiches for him!
Also last week Peter had his good friend Debbie from Melbourne send her son James, wife Marie and son down to Amelia Park for a few days so he could see first hand what Debbie always talks about. We had drinks at the Tavern and they commented on how lucky we were to be living in such a beautiful creation of Peters.
SUNDAY PIZZA & WINE DAY
Peter opened the Cellar Doors for his family and friends and a great day was had. The pizzas and Amelia Park Lamb were cooked to perfection and washed down with some great whites and reds. It was a very enjoyable afternoon/evening (a couple of sore heads the next day) as it was hard to leave the open fire!!
And its on again this weekend for Peter who is looking forward to introducing his friends Ian & Ushi to Amelia Park.
The horses and foals in particular are having a ball with these beautiful sunny days.
I look forward to reporting next week and I hope the weather keeps holding for a great LONG WEEKEND for everyone.
Regards
Shelley

A GREAT SECOND TO REPRISAL

Hello everyone and welcome to this weeks report.

CAULFIELD - 2ND
REPRISAL
Peter is very pleased with the progress of this horse. As the distance increases this horse will get better. He has really come into his own with a growing spurt in the last 6 months and getting bigger and stronger and will be a great stayer in the next 2-3 years over longer distances.

THIS WEEKS RACING
WEDNESDAY 26TH - BELMONT
LADY XAAR - RACE 1
Will have a couple of starts and depending on the outcome will make a decision for the future.

THURSDAY 27TH - NORTHAM
RED TIME RUNNER - RACE 1
Has drawn well and with Willy Pike on him we are looking for a good result.
TIME FOR BLACK - RACE 9
Hopefully Pricey can get this horse up and get a result.

AMELIA PARK
Amelias Lad has returned to the farm from Lou's and has developed well and looking stronger and has started Pre-Training for future campaigns.

WELCOME BACK
TEGAN has just returned from a holiday stint in Bali and looking very refreshed, not to happy with the weather after soaking up the sun, sand and surf up there - sorry Tegan but at least you had that!!

HAVE A GOOD TRIP
MASON is now off this week for a couple of weeks to the Philippines. Another one going to the warmth. Have a great time Mas.

Peter commented that he must be paying his staff to much with all these overseas trips.

There is something wrong here, the young ones are flying overseas and I get to fly to Kalgoorlie for 3 days, oh well!!

Peter had a great weekend with friends who stayed at the farm, after lunching at Wills Domain we then joined Peter, Susan and Erica for drinks at the Tavern. It was a farewell drink with Susan who is shifting digs and going home to Scotland to live. We wish her every happiness and success over there and who knows I might get to go overseas myself in the future to visit her.

Otherwise all is good here and as I keep saying and Peter made comment - 'WE ARE WAITING FOR THE CREEK TO RUN' - I have Glenn at the ready with the camera for this event.

Have a great week everyone and good luck at the track.

A FIRST - HOORAY

Welcome to this weeks report.

FIRST - REPRISAL
At Sandown 12/5
Very very pleased with Reprisals run, a 1st up over 1700m and carrying 58.5kg on a dead track, can't ask for more. Jockey Brad Rawiller has ridden Reprisal twice and had 2 wins so it certainly seems that this horse is more than happy with Brad on his back.

TIME FOR BLACK
Ran an encouraging race under Pricey so it will be interesting to watch the races to follow.

MASTER SECRET & AMELIAS GLORY were very disappointing in their race.

A QUIET WEEK OF RACING THIS WEEK, if anything is accepted tomorrow for this week I will send thru.

PETERS APPRENTICE JOCKEY
KEVIN BOHORUN is doing extremely well and is currently in Kalgoorlie gaining more experience. He is certainly enjoying his riding and we look forward to his future racing with Amelia Park.

AMELIA PARK
Peter is still recovering and should be back to form by the end of the week hopefully. He did enjoy his weekend with Rob Wiley who came for a weekend getaway at the farm.

AMELIA PARK WINES
Peter is thrilled with the result of the White & Reds that his Winemaker Jeremy has just began bottling. They did quite a bit of sampling on the weekend and Jeremy is more than pleased with the result.
AMELIA PARK WINES WILL BE RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC IN AUGUST, MORE INFORMATION TO COME.

WE CERTAINLY ENJOYED THE RAIN THAT CAME OUR WAY OVER THE WEEKEND.
Watching the foals frolicking is a heartwarming sight.

I look forward to reporting next week with happenings at Amelia Park.

NEVER GOING BACK

Welcome everyone, another week flies by and still no rain.

Not a good week in Racing last week.
Ms Chief Bound was scratched in Canterbury owing to lameness with chipped bone which explains the poor run last start. The horse will be operated on today and hope for a good result.

HOPEFULS THIS WEEK

BELMONT WEDNESDAY
MASTER SECRET - RACE 1
AMELIAS GLORY - RACE 1 - This race will be looked at seriously for the future of this horse.

TIME FOR BLACK - RACE 8 - Looking forward to see if this horse has lifted under the training of Pricey, hopefully Blacky has taken to the new environment.
Good luck Pricey.

SANDOWN - WEDNESDAY
REPRISAL
Back for a campaign, we hope the horse performs well under David Hayes today.

AMELIA PARK
Peter has just returned from Ghana with his words IM NEVER GOING BACK .
Peter has been helping to train 40 people to bring to Australia to firstly, assist in his business here and also give these people some quality of life. It has been tarnished by a very sad experience over there. Peter's Manager was arriving in Ghana a few days after Peter and was to be picked up at the Airport. As soon as he come thru Customs the Police stopped him at GUNPOINT, took him to the Police Station and basically threatened him with jail if he didnt give them all of his money. A VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE FOR HIM. You only hear and see these happenings on television. IT MAKES US APPRECIATE HOW LUCKY WE ARE LIVING HERE (HOPEFULLY IT WON'T CHANGE).
Peter has also come back ill so we all wish him a speedy recovery.

Its all go at the Farm but we are starting to pray for some rain, I personally am waiting for the creek to run again. The Cockatoos are having a field day in the gum trees, luckily they are so wasteful, there are hundreds of honkey nuts untouched everywhere so we gather them up and pass them onto our Aviary Birds which they really enjoy getting their beaks into.

Enjoy your week everyone and look forward to next weeks report.

THE SOUNDS OF THE
FARRIERS HAMMER
RINGS THRU THE STILL MORNING AIR

Welcome everyone, isn't this weather just to good!!

NORTHAM - 2ND

RED TIME RUNNER - Rob Wiley, Coxy and other Eagles Owners went to Northam and watched a good race. Unfortunately the horse got struck on the leg thru the run but did well at the end.

DISAPPOINTING RESULTS

MASTER SECRET, BLACK HABIT, MS CHIEF BOUND

Back to the drawing board for preparation of their next races.

NOMINATED - SATURDAY BELMONT

RED TIME RUNNER & MASTER SECRET

I WILL POST DEFINITES TOWARDS THE END OF THE WEEK.

BIG BREAKFAST RADIO - On my daily tune-in I listened to Dion Luciani talking to David Shortte & Wes Cameron and Dion spoke very highly of Peter Walsh and Amelia Park and how the horses enjoyed coming home for a rest, he felt it certainly gave them an added freshness. He was looking forward to Red Time Runner coming to the City to see his performance. Well done Dion and good luck.

OVERSEAS

Sorry Peter couldn't send his report thru this week, the phone reception where he travels to and from isn't always compatible with here so I will have double the news next week.

AMELIA PARK

The trucks and loaders are back in force daily. The new Dam and Golf Driving Range is fully under way. Brett Walsh is also working there and we have teed it up that Honey & Missy (our dogs) will be trained to fetch all the balls that go astray into the dam, I think they will be very busy and we will certainly need a lot of buckets of balls.

All else is progressing well at the farm, all the stables are overflowing and keeping the staff extremely busy with lots of overtime happening.

Enjoy your week and look forward to sending a full report next week.
