End of Week Report

Hi all,

Peter wanted to share with you the upcoming confirmed Horses Races for the Weekend.

Saturday

Amelias Reason - He is a starter in Race 5 over 1000m starting at 2.55pm. He has returned to good form so looking forward to this race.

Almohad - This is his 1st up race after coming 3rd in the Magic Millions, should run a tidy race.

South Australia Saturday
Hifalutin - Should be an exciting race as Sam Hayes says the horse is at its best since coming into work and Im told its the BEST BET OF THE DAY.

Sunday Pinjarra
Princess Amelia - This $40,000 race should prove exciting for the Princess and we look forward to a good showing.

Good Luck to all Owners and lets start seeing some F I R S T S.

Sydney
Divine Anna - I am going to say this quietly - Another SECOND
Unfortunately she was beaten by a top bred horse but ran a mighty race. Gaye Waterhouse was pleased with her 1st up run for its campaign.

Shares
Peter thanks all investors who were quick off the mark in snapping up remaining Shares. There is still a share remaining in the full brother to Secret Vault and shares in Canny Lad. Anyone who may be interested can contact Peter direct on 0418931946
There will also be other Shares coming available in the following weeks. I will keep you informed.
Lou also has some Shares available. He has purchased some good breeding, an O'Reilly Filly and Stavinsky Colt from his trip to South Australia. For more information you contact Lou direct on 0418920247.

Amelia Park
Lou has come down today to run his eye over all the horses and is very pleased with the progress being made and happy with the staffs efforts and care. We definitely wont let him stay for Happy Hours so he is back in Perth for tomorrows racing.

New Team Member
We look forward to welcoming another Rider to the team. Kevins brother Amless will join us from Mauritius who will arrive next week. If he is half as good as Kevin, not only in fitness and riding but also lots of fun, he fill fit in perfectly to the Amelia Park family.

We hope everyone has a great Long Weekend including Race Watching, Peter is off to Bali on Sunday so he will report to me next week from his poolside at Tanah Lot. I prefer not to think about it - lucky him.

kind regards
Shelley

News Update

I hope everyone enjoyed their past weeks events, now we look forward to the week ahead as we roll towards the end of another month.

Last Weeks Racing

Ascot Wednesday - Outside Influence

Disappointing as we thought this would be the race. Ran a winner to the corner but finished off very flat in the straight and failed to run on.

Pinjarra - Arctic Jewel

Started Favourite but another SECOND - which is all very nice but Peter hasnt got used to the seconds coming thru and now looking to FIRSTS all the way.

This Weeks Racing

Ascot - Saturday

Amelias Reason - is hopefully a possible starter for this week, watch for placings later in the week.

Princess Amelia - On her way back after a hiccup - looking good so should run a tidy race.

Almohad - stepped up to 1600m, looking forward to a good showing and will continue preparation leading up to the Derby.

Here's to SUCCESS

SHARES - SOLD OUT - Half Brother to Amelias Reason

The website newsletter proved successful as these shares have already been snapped up (Peter was amazed at the immediate response from investors). He wishes all involved GOOD LUCK and following the horse in its preparation for a successful career.

There will be more Shares being offered in the following weeks - You certainly have to be quick!!

AMELIA PARK

The Day Spa & Gym has now been started, all the ground work is well under way. I will certainly be watching for the finish date so I can be pampered by the Chinese expertise at the day spa (not so much the gym).

Landscaping - Grant is cracking the whip out here with alot of the grounds looking wonderful and being transformed from lots and lots of sand into beauty.

Entertaining - Peter was thrilled to see a group of Syndicate Members utilising the facilities at the farm yesterday starting with a game of tennis then off to the tavern for a barbecue. I might add that the night lights were still on and the music blaring when I retired for the night, I have now found out that it was Peter also there till stumps and paying for it today after sipping Amelia Park Red for a few hours.

An exciting (and exhausting) week ahead for Peter starting on Thursday at the Flame Tree - Winner of the Jimmy Watson Award - for wine tasting including 2008 Amelia Park Wine

and then back to the farm for Dinner. His guests are friends from both London and South Africa.

On the Weekend Peter has Dinner planned for Special Guest David Parkin from the AFL also Rob Wiley and 2 other Guests which I cant mention who as they are looking forward to a quiet night instead of having the gates knocked down by women admirers (sorry ladies but I will already be inside the gate.

Overseas

On Sunday Peter will fly to Bali for a well earned rest after his hectic socialising then onto West Timor to take the first steps in speaking with the Government about aquiring Land to set up an Orphanage, the first of many Peter envisages.

Flora & Fauna

Staff has been noticing a squirrel like creature running across the roads and paddocks and disappearing into the eucalypt trees which has had them intrigured for many months. A search on the marcupial website gave us our answer. It is a Phascagale which inhabits the hollows of trees feeding on insects and nectar. Staff have added him to the ever growing list of fauna to the farm.

The nectar on our Marri trees has been so abundant that it is actually dripping from the trees, when you walk past you can smell the aroma of beautiful sweet honey. It is said this could be an indication of a good wet season - lets hope.

We are awaiting in anticipation the arrival of 2 new residents in our beautiful Aviary - more to follow.

COULDN'T RESIST!

Hi to all, another week rolls by, can't believe its half way through February already.

LAST Week Results

Black Habit - unfortunately had feet problems so will get an easy week to recover.
Castle Blitz - was expected to perform well but due to hot humid conditions, breathing problems and heal pain which has been checked by the Vet, he will be rested for a month or so. We hope it cools down for him.
Almohad - a good run for 3rd, he is being stepped up slowly for preparation of the WA Derby in April.
Destroid - Everyone disappointed at this run, staff are trying to work out why not performing so as always they will keep trying.
We started with 3 Favourites so overall it was a disappointing race week, but as they say - THATS RACING.
Better weeks and months to come!

THIS Weeks Racing

Ascot Wednesday
Outside Influence - Race 3 Titan Ford Handicap at 1.53pm - tune in and should give a good crack at it.
Ascot Saturday
Amelias Reason - A possibility for Ascot on Saturday or on to 28th February for an all age race or a colts and geldings event on the 7th March, all fingers crossed and we will keep you informed.
A quiet week on the track so I hope all the horses enjoy their rest.

UPDATE - REPRISAL - Tasmania
Has arrived back in Adelaide at Lindsay Park Stables and will have a short spell and then be stepped up for the upcoming Derby if shows good response. Enjoy your rest Reprisal.

Luciani Stables
Caesars Symbol - Syndicate Horse - it was decided to move this horse on and we wish Ron White in Kalgoorlie every success and confident Caesars Symbol should improve over the next few seasons.

Magic Million Sales- COULDN'T RESIST - I KNEW IT
Peter thoroughly enjoyed his time with Sam Hayes, Darren Thomas and Pilko from Lindsay Park Stables catching up on the latest racing news. HOWEVER there were 4 Horses that caught his eye at the Sales so they have arrived safely at Amelia Park to start their career.
They have all come from good breeding and winning families - there is a half brother to Amelias Reason which Sam and Darren have taken shares in, a full brother to Secret Vault and half sister to China Bay. Peter is looking forward to his new stock maturing and continuing in their families footsteps.

Shares - Peter advised that there will be opportunity to invest in these horses as there is still a minimum number of shares left. Keep an eye out as there will be more information on the breeding and pictures in the next weeks.

Amelia Park
The girls are busy with organising room for the arrival of approximately 8 yearlings . Its great to see the trucks off loading them and being introduced to their new home. The other horses here certainly give them the once over.
All works are progressing on the landscaping of the new cellar, it is shaping up to be something special and also construction of a new home is well underway.
The Orchard has just been covered with bird netting which will ensure fresh fruit during the summer months.
Its all go as usual at Amelia Park.

Flora & Fauna
The southern boundary of Amelia Park is lined with Casurina (Sheok) trees which were planted some 4 years ago and now offer protection for nesting of willie wagtails, wattle birds and a flock of finches. It is heartening to see the natural wildlife happy and thriving in this new invironment.
Our resident Kangaroos have produced a new joey. We have a resident buck and a doe which has suffered a leg injury but still manages to visit our orchard each evening with her joey in tow.

Enjoy your week everyone and until next week -

Regards

Shelley

Past Present & Future at Amelia Park

Welcome to Amelia Park, another weekend has passed and hopefully made everyone refreshed for the coming events of the week.

Past Racing Results - Outside Influence
It was a great race but was unlucky to get held up the length of the straight, would certainly have been in the finish if it had had a clear run.

This Weeks Busy Racing Schedule
Ascot Wednesday
Black habit - 1800m Race
should be very hard to beat in this race.
Castle Blitz - 1200m 3yo Race
Very close to winning now so should go well here.
Almohad - is now ready to return with good results to set up for the Derby.

Pinjarra Thursday
Destroid - No more shaky jumps
Should certainly be right at the finish

Here is to good racing results for all Horses and Owners

Magic Million Sales - Wednesday & Thursday
Peter will ONLY be going to the Sales to supposedly catch up with Breeders and Sam Hayes. I am not confident there wont be any buying - I don't think Peter trusts himself either so it will be interesting when he returns home. I will keep you posted.

Early Morning Arrivals
The Staff were greeted at 5am on the 5th with 2 horses that safely arrived from New Zealand, bought over by Lou. The staff said they have settled in very well here with no effects from the long trip.
There maybe some shares in the offering with these horses and you will be advised in due course of their details along with other horses.

Staff at Amelia Park
I thought introducing the Staff to you by name so when you visit Amelia Park you will know who is looking after your horse.
Kristy - our Stable Manager
She is in control of the Pre-Training and management of the horses.
Tegan - Kristys Assistant works with the horses and assists Kristy with the pre-training and grooming.
I think I hear them both singing to some of the horses on their way to the track each morning.
Abas - is in control of feeding the paddock horses as well as keeping the track and stables to a good standard. He makes a very hot curry
Peter is very pleased indeed with his staff, especially in the excellent treatment of everyones horses.

Luciani Stables
Lou is very busy getting the horses ready for this weeks events. He was at Amelia Park last
week and together him and the staff set up new programmes for the coming months which should be very exciting.
We did get Lou back to Perth in time for his interview on Inside Racing on the weekend. Peter said it was a credit to Lou for his past and present success in the Industry and wishes him luck for the future. Im sure you will be able to see a replay on Sky, it is worth a watch.

Amelia Park
Ongoing Works
Well the trucks have arrived for the landscaping and rock pool areas at the new Cellar, I lost count today of how many trucks threw up the dust along the road into the dam area and there will be plenty of movement in the weeks to come.

Flora & Fauna
Over the coming weeks we will introduce you to the native Flora and Fauna that make Amelia Park their home.
Such as the silhoette of the Ibis that roost at night in the tall blossoming Marri trees that grow in our unique area. The combination of native trees and the many European species that Peter has introduced is creating a micro environment, encouraging birdlife and native reptiles and animals into our piece of Paradise. We will keep you informed of natures transition into the 4 Seasons and the animals and birdlife that visit us.

Everyone enjoy your Racing this week and look forward to posting winning results.

regards
Shelley

This weeks news

Hello Readers, we hope everyone had a great weekend and now follow with a report of all the happenings at Amelia Park, Home and Away.

The Heat
Not only are we all trying to keep cool, but our dedicated Staff are making sure our horses are by swimming them twice a day and they are certainly giving the sprinklers a good workout. I may take up residence in one of the stables.

Weekend Racing - Tasmania
Another Bridesmaid Race - Reprisal may not have won the Tasmanian Derby, but did a mighty job running home second and will now have a well earned spell and Hayesy will then decide whether to run in the Adelaide Derby in May, we will keep you posted. The horse is still young and they are confident will continue to develop and be a good stayer in future races.

Peter hasn't stopped talking about Tasmania. "Everyone should make Tasmania a definite holiday spot before we all get to tired/old to travel". Peter was overwhelmed with the Raceclubs generosity, the friendly people, beautiful scenery, seafood and of course premium wines. I now just have to tell him I have booked the flights and he will have to feed the birds, chooks, alpacas etc.

Pinjarra Sunday - Destroid
Do we dare say - Second
Unfortunately was shaky in the barriers, missed the jump but came home well and gave the Owners a second. Better jumps to come.

Mid Week Racing - Outside Influence
Will race Wednesday 4th February in Race 2 at 1.15pm. Will certainly call for a $ bet. Good luck Lou.

Spelling at Amelia Park
Princess Amelia - At her last race she was blowing a lot so Lou sent her home with a touch of the cold, she is happy and resting and Lou will begin her campaign for the Champion Fillys. She has just returned to Luciani Stables and should be racing within the next 2 weeks.
China Bay - was jarred up in the last race so back home for rest and recreation.
Foals - The staff are enjoying looking after 2 beautiful foals that have just arrived, they are the cutest, and with living at Amelia Park should definitely come into their own in times to come.

Luciani Stables
Amelias Reason - has had a wonder spell at home and is raring to go for the next campaign. Lou said she is looking super good and will make for exciting race watching shortly.
Almohad - will now resume its campaign and is looking a treat and all going well will be racing in the next 10 days.

Lou will be making his way to Amelia Park this week to inspect the yearlings and form new programmes for the coming months. I think Lou will want to stay down here away from the Perth heat but we will pack him up and send him back ready for race day.

Horse Shares
There is a lot of interest coming thru from horse lovers wanting to be included in purchasing shares, so in the coming months we will be going online with details of investing. We will keep you informed.

AMELIA PARK
Social News
Peter will be host to a very Special Guest in late February for dining under the stars at Amelia Park. When this date has been finalised we will circularise details. Apparently there are more Guests to follow but Peter hasn't clarified WHO, he said he doesn't want me to get too excited to early. I will let you know as soon as I know, if not before.

Wine Cellar
By mid February the second Wine Cellar with beautiful landscaping will be completed which will be home to some of the finest wines - not only Amelia Park Wines - but from all over the world. Both cellars will total around 5,000 bottles. I think we are in for some wonderful celebration nights at Amelia Park in 2009.

Keep cool everyone and look forward to sharing news with you next week.

warm regards
Shelley
