DAVID RODWELL - SECOND TO NONE

Hi everyone, welcome to this weeks report.

BACK FROM SOUTH AFRICA
Peter has arrived home safely, just takes a day or 2 to adjust. I don't think I would ever adjust after his wonderful experience.

WHAT A FANTASTIC TIME WAS HAD. Peter, Annie and friends Peter & Terri were absolutely TREATED LIKE KINGS & QUEENS during their stay. DAVID & RITA RODWELL, Peter's long time friends, were THE MOST AMAZING HOSTS, Peter said you would have to have been there to take in THE GENEROSITY LAVISHED ON THEM. IT WAS A VERY SPECIAL TIME AND UNFORGETTABLE.
Peter was amazed as he said David & Rita's Palatial Home is like a Hotel where they are entertaining Visitors that can arrive anytime from early AM and also late in the PM and they included them in everything and from that Peter has met and made some wonderful and interesting new friends.
LEAD BY DAVID'S Busy Schedule for their visit, they were treated to a SUPRISE with Tickets to the U2 CONCERT, they had the BEST TIME.
Then they followed on with a BREAKFAST AT TABLETOP MOUNTAIN. I can only imagine that. EVERY DAY WAS SPECIAL TO THEM.

Peter also enjoyed catching up with JENNIFER, David's Sister who he has a long standing friendship with.

Peter also spent time with other good friends RAYMOND & ANNIE who have a Home at the world renown CLIFTON BEACH in Capetown. Again they were lavished upon, especially an evening where they were treated to a Traditional Braai and Magical Music from an African Band, Raymond's Home actually protrudes over part of the Beach, again Peter says it is hard to paint a picture. Unfortunately Raymond is quite ill but in saying that - 'Their Doors are Always Open'.

On the Business Side of Things - Peter explored the avenues available for a possible STEAKHOUSE in the future. So that will be another exciting venture for him.

WHAT WONDERFUL HOSPITABLE FRIENDS PETER HAS.

THE SHOOTOUT just outside their Hotel CERTAINLY DIDN'T DAMPEN THEIR UNIQUE EXPERIENCE - BUT DOES KEEP YOU ON YOUR TOES!!!!!! Peter said.

AMELIA PARK
WEDDING BELLS
Peter has generously offered good friend and Partner/Manager at V & V Walsh - Paul Crane, Amelia Park to hold his Wedding to Christine.
We all wish them a HAPPY WEDDING DAY and I'm sure with the weather as it is Amelia Park will make a splendid venue for them all.

Peter unfortunately has to say NO to all the many enquiries he has for functions here. He can only allow close Friends and Family Members the use of his amenities.

AMELIAS DELIGHT
FIRST UP WIN - WHAT A SLASHER IN THE 1400m RACE.
Peter was thrilled with the performance and excited about the coming months racing.

REMINDER - 'NIGHT UNDER THE STARS' SATURDAY 5TH MARCH
For AMELIA PARK II & III SYNDICATES.

D O N ' T M I S S T H I S G R E A T N I G H T
SYNDICATE III HORSE PARADE DAY & SAUSAGE SIZZLE MARCH 20TH
Peter is looking forward with the upcoming Syndicate. He says the horses that have been chosen have some great Bloodlines so will be exciting to see them come thru and hopefully give the Syndicate a great showing.
Peter has also said that people who are not necessarily in the Syndicate but would be interested in seeing the Horse Parade ARE MOST WELCOME.
SO FOLKS - COME ALONG AND ENJOY THE DAY!
AMELIA PARK WINES - G O L D G O L D B R O N Z E
Peter is ecstatic that 2 GOLD for the CABERNET MERLOT and SBS have been awarded at the SYDNEY ROYAL WINE SHOW, together with a BRONZE for the red MISHMASH. Peter gives all CREDIT TO JEREMY. He had the Top Credentials when Peter went into Partnership with him winning othe coveted Awards AND HE STILL CONTINUES WITH THE TOP RESULTS
Peter said the CABERNET MERLOT which was also JUDGED ON TOP INTERNATIONALLY HAS WON MORE MEDALS IN ITS FIRST YEAR THAN A GENERAL . It has nearly Sold Out so a good time to get a Carton or 2 and put away (yes put away) AS A LIMITED EDITION it will certainly make for pleasing the palate in the future.
TONIGHT'S DINNER AT AMELIA PARK
Peter is Hosting a Dinner for Dion Luciani, Jason Whiting and Clint Harvey, I THINK HE WILL BE TELLING THEM HOW TO RIDE WINNERS BY THE END OF THE EVENING!!!!!!!!!!
Enjoy your Weekend everyone and look forward to reporting next week.
WE SEND ALL OUR PRAYERS AND HOPE FOR THE PEOPLE OF CHRISTCHURCH

GREAT WIN

Hi everyone and welcome to this weeks short report.

MY APOLOGIES READERS, I HAD THE REPORT DONE BUT WAS WAITING ON THE RESULT OF GUYNO'S WIN AND THEN FORTGOT TO POST THE REPORT. LUCKILY ONE OF OUR READERS MADE ME AWARE OF THE LATENESS.

PETER IS AWAY IN SOUTH AFRICA AT THE MOMENT SO I CANT GET ANY REPORTS FROM HIM. but will certainly bring everyone up to date next week.

Everything is progressing well at Amelia Park, the stables are overflowing and the riders are flat out, it is great to watch them handling a lot of the young ones, I give them full credit with their patience and skills. Definitely not for the faint hearted.

MORNINGTON CUP
GUYNO
WHAT A GREAT WIN
CONGRATULATIONS TO JOHN COURT & MRS RICHARDSON AND GREAT RIDING JASON.
We of course take alot of the credit as Guyno spends a lot of time at Amelia Park and the staff do an excellent job with his Pre-Training and preparation.

I hope to be reporting lots of great wins in the next coming months when the horses campaigns begins.

The Black Cygnets are growing at a rapid rate, we are only feeding 10 each day now so its great to see they are finding their wings.

I look forward to speaking to Peter next week and DONT FORGET 'NIGHT UNDER THE STARS' IN MARCH.

Have a great weekend!

WHERE DID JANUARY GO!

Greetings everyone, already into February - how fast time flies.

Welcome to this weeks report on Amelia Park.

RACING RESULTS
ASCOT 2/2/11
CHIRON - 3RD
Good run today and 3rd is nearly at the top, a tidy return.

AMELIA PARK

NIGHT UNDER THE STARS

I'm sure most attended this Fantastic Evening held last year and with Peters ongoing generosity he has planned another evening for the Syndicate Members in March. Don't forget the dancing shoes. It is a beautiful setting at the Amphitheatre and Farm at night especially with a clear sky to boot. Looking forward to it. Peter said that Aaron Sandilands from the Dockers Football Club will be attending, we will have to make sure he doesn't grab front seat because we won't have a view!! Also looking forward to catching up with Rob Wiley who will return for the event.

PERTH MAGIC MILLION SALES
Peter will be attending the Sales with 10 Horses going under the hammer hopefully. I told him to watch the nodding of the head when the BUYING BEGINS. I will hear the outcome on his arrival home. Lou will also be attending and looking closely at Horses to purchase for the new Syndicate III.

CHINA
Annies Mum left for China on the weekend to be home for celebrations of their Chinese New Year and catch up with family. We will be back to nicking the eggs and vegetables while she is away. Can't believe it was a year ago that the egg basket travelled each day to the pen.

SOUTH AFRICA
Peter leaves on the 14th for several days so the lead up to then is extremely busy for him so he will enjoy the ????? hours flight ahead.

BACK TO SCHOOL
Peter picked Lea up on the weekend from her home trip to KL. She has returned to School and hopefully she can perform as well if not better than her excellent results last year.

QUEENSLAND
What can you say, how unlucky for them to have experienced the floods and now this disastrous cyclone about to hit. IT IS JUST TO SAD TO HAVE TO EXPERIENCE.
We send them all our thoughts and good tidings that everyone gets through unscathed. We have been glued to the TV for all happenings, and wish that he peeters down before it reaches the coast.
WE ARE SO LUCKY HERE IN THE WEST - WE ARE GLAD OUR FOREFATHERS SETTLED HERE .

REHABILITATION BLACK CYGNET SWANS

Glenn reports that from the original 27 that were delivered in stages to the Farm, there is still 25 coming for their daily feeds. It is such a delight as they are getting more at ease with us and actually wait at the feed bin at the pond. They are gradually starting to explore and they are sighted at the various lakes on the Farm where they are learning to fend for themselves. It is both wonderful and sad that eventually they will fly away for their new beginnings BUT HOPEFUL WILL REMEMBER THE FARM AND RETURN NEXT YEAR WITH THEIR OFFSPRING.

I look forward to reporting all the happenings next week.

Have a great week everyone.
