A GREAT WIN

Hello and welcome everyone to this weeks News from Amelia Park.

Apologies for lateness but had my computer spiked and have only just come back on line - thats what happens down here in Winter!!!!

SONGBURG - NORTHAM
A GREAT WIN
Peter was thrilled to see Songburg get a win and congratulates all his good friends that are also Owners.
Peter gives a big thankyou to Owen who put a lot of effort and hard work in getting Songburg in fantastic shape.

Songburg is listed to race at Belmont on Saturday in Race 1 - GOOD RACING!

MADAME de AMELIA may have a run in Northam next week.

Peter has a good feeling for the next 12 months with some really good horses at and coming to the track.
ITS TIME!!!

MARES HEADING EAST
Kristy has been busy getting the Mares all ready to leave for their respective Studs next week.  They are all going to top Stallions so the next few months will be eagerly watched.

FOUNDATION FOR JUNIORS
Peter had a hoot of a night with Rob Wiley returning to the Footy Club -  Peter said there is nothing like THE FRIDAY NIGHT MEALS AT THE FOOTBALL CLUB where all the Mothers prepared their meals - STILL THE BEST! It certainly bought all the good memories flooding back.

Peter enjoyed helping to raise money for the Foundation.

BEAUTIFUL REDS
Peter cooked us a meal this week and we enjoyed LAMB RACK together with some georgous Reds.  It certainly fools you as you don't realise the amount drunk until you stand up!!!  It slides down so so smoothly.  THANKYOU PETER FOR THE HEAD!!

JUNE SALES
Peter has taken off to Perth for a few days to do some serious HOUSE SHOPPING, he will be in his glory.

BALI FAMILY HOLIDAY
The Family will take off to Tanah Lot next week and enjoy beautiful weather.  I will ask Annie to bottle some and bring home.

Enjoy the rest of your week and happy punting!!!

A CALMER WEEK

Hello everyone and welcome to this weeks News Update.

CALMER WEATHER THIS WEEK
Which allows the staff to get a run at clearing all the debris from the Farm.

RACING:

NORTHAM - THURSDAY
SONGBURG  - RACE 1
Should be in with a big chance - has a good barrier draw.
Songurg left Amelia Park in beautiful condition so Peter is keen for a good result.

AMELIAS DANCER
Will leave the Stables this weekend and travel to Perth for preparation .  Should be running in a couple of weeks.

REPRISAL
Still at the Farm and going as planned.

TRACK OUT OF ACTION
The Farm track was out of action for a few days due to fallen debris and very soggy track.  But it wasn't a holiday for the horses.  They spent their trackwork time in the Walker, Pool and Round Yards.  I think they enjoyed a different routine for a change.  BACK ON TRACK NOW.

Peter is looking forward to the weekend in Perth.
He will be attending an event, guest of Rob Wiley, for the Foundation of Juniors Football.  He is a great friend of Rob's and loves Football so he will enjoy this outing.

Just to tell you again, the Farm paddocks are looking fabulous as is the whole Farm and the Creek is filling up fast.

ENJOY YOUR RACING FOLKS!

regards

DOWN FOR DAYS

Hello everyone and welcome to this weeks News from Amelia Park Estate.

Firstly, Peter hopes everyone and their property is safe and sound after the battering Sunday and Tuesday.

WE COPPED IT AGAIN AT AMELIA PARK
It is so sad to see what devastation is done after Storms.  A lot of the Farms beautiful Trees were destroyed along with horse fences and debris everywhere and NO POWER FOR DAYS.
It certainly makes you appreciate what it must have been like in the old days - No Water, No Power, No SHOWER.   The road leading to the Farm - Kaloorup Road - once again was the worst hit, the number of trees down closed the road for some hours.
Thankfully Tuesdays Storm wasn't as severe as predicted.

THE CLEANUP CONTINUES........

THE ONLY GOOD NEWS OUT OF ALL THIS  -    THE CREEK IS RUNNING !

RACING
BELMONT TODAY
MADAME DE AMELIA  - 3RD
PETER VERY PLEASED, IT WAS A BRIGHT LIGHT FROM A DARK WEEK FOR HIM.

SAD LOSS
Unfortunately one of Peters great hopes - half sister to Madame De Amelia had to be put down after breaking her leg during the storm on Sunday. Luckily she didn't suffer to long which was a blessing.

2ND SAD LOSS
Thieves at The Tavern
Sadly the Tavern will now be locked each night after losing money and wine and spirits on the weekend.  They certainly spoil it for Peter who tries to make his property available to family, friends and staff.

Well we sure hope we have seen the last of the storms and damage for quite a while and just receive LOTS OF RAIN.

Enjoy the rest of your storm free week and look forward to GOOD NEWS next week.

PETER - NEXT WEEK WILL BE BETTER!!!

ITS OFFICIAL

Hello and Welcome to this weeks News for Amelia Park Estate.

ITS OFFICIAL
OUR WINTER MONTHS HAVE ARRIVED   -   APPARENTLY!!!
We now wait for the RAIN TO COME!

RACING
Peter is excited about next week as 2 Horses will go to the track -
Madam de Amelia and Songbird.  Good luck Peter lets hope the campaign has begun. There has been some changes to the Training so it will be new times.

BURNING OFF
Peter and the men will be having a ball and fighting over the matches.  Its burn off time so they will be in their glory. The Tractors will be out in force - I am going to judge who has the biggest bonfire.   Something about men and fires!!!!

LUSH PADDOCKS
The paddocks are looking great as they green up and they to are waiting for some rain to flourish.

BUSY LONG WEEKEND
Having beautiful weather Peter enjoyed entertaining at the Farm with several groups of visitors. He was very busy as usual - and loving it.

HOLIDAY WELL EARNED
ABBAS - Our new AUSSIE will return home to India on Sunday for a few months.  It has been a long haul for Abbas but now he can enjoy a long overdue holiday with his Family.  Peter is overjoyed that Abbas passed all tests with flying colours and he is truly PART OF THE FAMILY. Peter is taking him to Dinner at Newtown House on Thursday to again thank him for all is dedication and hard work.

The Staff will certainly miss him and will all rally round to fill in while he is away.  Peter remarked that the best thing at the Farm is that all staff just get in and all help whenever they are needed.

Wanga visited the Farm yesterday, he is slowly recuperating but I think getting very restless not being with the horses everyday.  We all miss his sick humour.

I hope to report on THE CREEK FILLING UP in next weeks update.

Enjoy your week

HAPPY HOLIDAY ABBAS
WE WILL ALL MISS YOU
