THE WILLOWS ARE IN BLOOM

Greetings everyone, what a glorious Spring day.

RACING
AMELIAS DANCER
HAS BEEN RE-SCHEDULED AND WILL NOW RACE ON WEDNESDAY 22ND.

EUROPA POINT & REPRISAL
All reports from the East are good so the end of the month is still a goer at this stage.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA & SYDNEY
Peter has just returned from his whirlwind trips. He spent a few days at LINDSAY PARK and thoroughly enjoyed his stay catching up with Sam Hayes, Boo and the McEvoys. They had some lovely meals together. Peter as I guessed has purchased a NUMBER of different wines to add to the Cellar, he did say he had to sample all of them when choosing, by the sound of it I think he chose everything he sampled!!

He was very pleased with his Sydney trip on the business side of things.

AMELIA PARK
The Weeping Willows are in beautiful bloom, creek running, horses happy, all is good.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Birthday Wishes to ME.

AMELIA PARK WINES
Don't forget to look for our Wines in your local Liquor Store, and also on the WEBSITE!.

We are looking forward to next weeks racing and will report same time.

Enjoy your week!!

SPRING RACING IS GETTING CLOSER

Welcome everyone, another week flys by and we now find ourselves in SPRINGTIME.

RACING NEWS
EUROPA POINT - MELBOURNE
Peter has reported that by the end of September this fantastic horse will be ready and hopefully compete in the upcoming Carnivals.
REPRISAL
This horse is in Pre-Training and should be a starter in approximately 2 weeks.
AMELIAS DANCER
Lou reports that the 18th should be a goer.
2 YEAR OLDS
A few of the young ones will hopefully start trialling in 1 month.

I will of course keep you up todate with the above Starters and Dates.
This is what Peter looks forward to!!

AMELIA PARK SPRING LAMB ON NATIONAL TELEVISION
THE TODAY SHOW FEATURED THE START OF SPRING IN SYDNEY WITH CHEFS COOKING AMELIA PARK LAMB AND OFFERING IT TO PEOPLE ON THE STREET. IT LOOKED ABSOLUTELY MOUTH WATERING AND IT WAS GREAT TUNING IN - I HOPE OUR READERS ALSO CAUGHT IT ON EARLY AM TV.

Also in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane some of the TOP RESTAURANTS are featuring Amelia Park Lamb on their Menus.

Woolworths are also full on promoting Australian Beef in America which is fantastic and a great Advertisement all round.

WE ARE DEFINITELY ON THE MAP !!!!!

AMELIA PARK WINES
Jeremy is having an excellent Promotion in Sydney this week with Tastings in Restaurants and then he is off to the UK for more Promotions.
Peter is having excellent feed back from Jeremy with the Wines success.

AMELIA PARK
Peter is thoroughly enjoying all the happenings at the moment (in his glory). He is flying over to Lindsay Park in South Australia next week and is looking forward to catching up with Sam Hayes. He said he will make time (I'm sure) to visit some of the Wineries and purchase some fine Wines from there to keep stocking up the Cellar.

HOSTING V & V WALSH BOX DAY AT SATURDAY RACES
Peter and Greg will be hosts to 65 Clients this Saturday so there will be quite a few liquid amber's flowing along with hopefully a few Winners.

FATHERS DAY
Peter will return home in time to host a Family Day at the Tavern for FATHERS DAY on Sunday. The weather forecast is showing a Fine Day so A HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL !

FLORA & FAUNA
Peter is rapped with the amount of different species of BIRDS that are now visiting the Farm including Rosellas, White Tailed Black Cockatoos, 28's, Ibis, Willies, Wrens etc. It is a delight to hear their different calls and watch them vying for nesting spots. The Aviary birds certainly seem to entice them in.
Glenn is also excited as the Alexandrines and Derbyans are very busy mating and getting their breeding boxes ready. We are looking forward to the babies being hatched and watching the parents raise their young.

All the trees are now in bud and the Weeping Willows are ahead sprouting their beautiful leaves.
WE LOVE THIS TIME OF THE YEAR HERE!!

Enjoy your week and see you here same time next week.

GOOD LUCK FOR YOU DOCKER SUPPORTERS - MAKE WA PROUD!!!

NO WINNERS BUT STILL GRINNERS

Hello everyone and welcome to this weeks report.

NORTHAM THURSDAY
ALEVANTA
Peter is looking forward to his return. The horse has drawn Barrier 1 and will be ridden by Pikey so a place bet would be a good return.

RACE DAY
What a great day was had by the staff. All the women looked fabulous, (and the men certainly looked dapper all suited up). Unfortunately there wasn't a lot of hoo haaing going on with big wins but all in all it was a great social day and as usual Peter was the perfect Host.
The only sour note was a group in the next Box to us who were very rowdy and uncouth and caused the staff and security quite a headache. Compliments to Sylvana who handled the unsavoury situation in a professional manner. It certainly leaves you feeling embarrassed of how people can behave.

THEFT AT THE FARM
What an awful feeling to know someone is trespassing on your property and stealing expensive items. All of the Riding Saddles were taken on Sunday evening which prevented the staff from training the horses. A very expensive exercise for replacement of this equipment. We have now received an email that has been circularised as a Warning - THE FARRIER CONMAN. Apparently he his travelling around Australia and there has been a lot of reports of thefts. BE AWARE and make sure everything is secure. Wouldn't it be great to catch these so called (humans) in the act.

FAREWELL & GOOD LUCK
Peter reported that Rob Wiley leaves for Melbourne for a couple of years and we wish him all the best and will certainly miss his regular trips to the farm. He was classed as one of the Amelia Park crew so hopefully he said he will get back over here as much as he can.

AMELIA PARK WINES
It is exciting times for Peter with the release of several wines into Restaurants and Liquor Outlets. Our Winemaker Jeremy Gordon (The Jimmy Watson Medal Winner) has done a magnificent job of selecting TOP GRADES FOR TOP WINE. Jeremy is in Sydney this week and then continues onto England to promote the Wines.
The Wines will be entered into most of the Shows around the State which will begin at the end of September for Judging so we are all looking forward to that.

A reminder to everyone about the Amelia Park Wine Website www.ameliaparkwines.com.au . Membership offers a 20% discount. Also you can join the Amelia Park Wine Club and have twice yearly deliveries. Find more details on the website.

AMELIA PARK
Its pruning time at the farm as SPRING is approaching so it will be wonderful to watch all the new growth on the Willows and Trees.

All the best to everyone for an enjoyable week.

OFF TO THE RACES

Hello everyone and welcome to this weeks report.

Unfortunately another quiet week of racing but Peter reports that in the next couple of weeks we will actually be reporting on the upcoming race meetings and we will then see quite a lot of the horses ready for their campaigns.

In the meantime Outspoken Lady will be Trialling on Monday and Peter is looking forward to watching her performance.

ANOTHER HOPEFUL CHAMPION JUST BORN

LADY SHERIFA/DEHAER - We welcome a Filly which has been sired by the best in Australia so this one will be a good one to follow in the next couple of years.

EXCITING SATURDAY RACE DAY - WHAT TO WEAR!!
Its getting closer and we are all looking forward to a get together with Peter. He has kindly booked us into the Duxton Hotel so no doubt a late night for most back at the bar.

AMELIA PARK
We welcome RUTH on board to the Farm who has completed her probation time working at the stables. Christy and Tegan reported that Ruth is an excellent worker and has fitted into the job nicely.

Christy is due back this week (just in time for the Races) after having a break in Broome. We are not looking forward to seeing the sun tan but looking forward to her return. Tegan has held the reins and done a mighty job.

THE FISHERMAN
Peter has spent the last 2 weekends out fishing with Brett. He has been bragging about the great catches of crabs, king george whiting and squid. I am waiting for the invite to help him devour the catch.

He also enjoyed Rob Wileys company on the weekend who had time out to make a visit to the Farm.

FLORA & FAUNA

Glenn reported a family of 3 BLACK SWANS have been spending time at the Lake Islands inside the Race Track. We are hoping they will colonise and remain for generations to come.

AVIARY
It is certainly hotting up in several of the cages where the Cocks are strutting their stuff and getting their nesting boxes in readiness for the breeding season. Its amazing to watch how each different species go about their business and the way they entice the Hens. Glenn is looking forward to Amelia Parks first produce.

Enjoy your week and maybe catch you at the Races on Saturday!!

RAIN,RAIN & MORE RAIN

Greetings everyone, isn't the rain wonderful.

FINALLY CAUGHT UP
I managed to speak to Peter this week during his very busy schedule.

He reports that again quiet racing but all horses are in work and looking forward to the next few months.
NEW FOAL
A Filly at Coolmore - Secret Vault/Holy Roman Empire and all reports coming thru are showing good signs.

AMELIA PARK

DRIVING RANGE
The Golf Driving Range is nearing completion and it looks fantastic. Brett is creating wonderful surrounds which compliment the whole area including the Aviary and Playground. My bucket of balls are at the ready.

DAY SPA & GYM
Peter advised that he has employed a lady to start soon for in-house Massages etc so the staff are lining up with the backaches (any excuse).

STAFF RACE DAY
Peter has kindly invited the Staff to a day at the Races on Saturday 21st. We are hoping one of the horses maybe running on the day to make it even more exciting. The females are busy discussing the WHAT TO WEAR!!!

STORM AND RAIN
Yesterday sent us a feisty storm together with approximately 40mm downpour. I know you have heard it before but THE CREEK IS BREAKING ITS BANKS. Its wonderful to see at last and hoping for more to come.
I hope everyone far and wide is also getting the rain (badly needed everywhere).

Have a great week everyone and look forward to reporting next week.
